Charles’s Blog : BA Professional Practice (Arts)

I have thought about what ideas and themes I could possibly base my inquiry on, so I went back and looked at my diagram and thought that gender roles and stereotyping with regards to male dancers within the industry is something I am very interested in and have began developing ideas with regards to this.

Going forward I want to have greater understanding of the course and study the module handbook to its fullest. I will also try to better my time management skills as I am a busy person, attending classes  rehearsal and balancing part time work. I feel as though if I develop these skills then I will be more time efficient and begin to generate new innovative ideas within my work.

I have received my feedback from Module One and have some thoughts and reflective ideas based on the comments given. I felt as though the work I handed in for the first module was extremely reflective and I gave a good introduction into my professional practice as a dancer. I evaluated and looked deep into what makes my practice personal and the things that predominantly take key importance within my professional field. Going forward into the second module I will take on board all of the feedback given by trying to attend more frequent Skype discussions and post more on my blog. I felt as though my main focus was getting both my essay and my diagram finished so I shifted away from the other aspects.

I attended the Skype session at 5pm. We discussed the ways in which we should synthesise the different elements within our practice.
